Ellissa Nolan, MCAI’m Ellissa Nolan, a communications professional and digital project manager with deep experience delivering complex projects across commercial, not‑for‑profit, small business and university environments. I currently serve as the Executive Officer for the Centre for AI, Trust and Governance at the University of Sydney, where I support strategic initiatives at the intersection of technology, policy, research and public engagement.
With a career spanning digital transformation, marketing, strategic communication and stakeholder management, I specialise in designing and delivering projects that are creative, practical and evidence‑driven. |
Before joining the University of Sydney, I dedidated eight years running my own small business, gaining firsthand experience in revenue generation, client relations, marketing, strategic design, operational management and adapting business models through periods of change. Prior to that entrepreneurial chapter, I was Executive Digital Manager for a network of North Coast credit unions with a $500 million asset base. There, I led a $7 million digital transformation project, oversaw marketing and communications, and delivered mobile banking services to 40,000 members alongside a dedicated team of IT and creative specialists.
Marketing and communication have been central to my professional identity for more than two decades. I’ve developed and delivered brand management and campaign strategies for organisations including GoFundraise, Rotary International, Queensland University of Technology and the University of Tasmania’s Academy of the Arts.
Earlier in my career, I built a strong foundation in high‑level communication and organisational leadership while working as Executive Assistant to senior leaders across media, entertainment and advertising, including the Director of ABC Radio, the Managing Director of Sony PlayStation and the CEO of Lowe Hunt Advertising.
Today, in the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences at the University of Sydney, I continue to bring together my experience in strategy, communication and digital innovation to support impactful work that bridges technology, creativity and social good.
